Our hands-on care team of experienced children’s nurses and healthcare assistants deliver Family Support, Symptom Management, End-of-Life Care, Bereavement Support and Direct Care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families in the comfort of their own home.

Our team delivers care in the following regions:

Region 1:  Dublin Mid-Leinster includes South County Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath

Region 2:  Dublin North East includes North County Dublin, Meath, Cavan, Louth and Monaghan

  • Team Leader

    Terrie Clarke is a qualified Registered General Nurse and worked in general nursing before undertaking a diploma in higher education in child health at the Nightingale Institute of Nursing in London. Terrie worked for many years in Guys and St.Thomas’ Hospital before returning to Ireland.  She completed the paediatric intensive care course whilst working at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Terrie joined LauraLynn in 2014 and has a keen interest in pursuing education in paediatric palliative care.

  • Muireann Aherne qualified as a Paediatric Nurse in 2001 and has gained many years nursing experience in both England and Australia. Muireann worked in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin as a staff nurse in the area of neo-natal cardiology and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Orthopaedics.  She joined Lauralynn House in 2012 and is currently undertaking her Masters in Palliative Care in Trinity college Dublin.

  • Staff Nurse

    Lucy Coy trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and qualified with a BsC honors degree in 2010. Lucy has a wide variety of experience working in paediatric inpatient settings including the emergency department and high dependency care, as well as working with children with complex health needs on a paediatric surgical and gastro ward. Lucy has always had an interest in paediatric palliative care and joined LauraLynn shortly after relocating to Ireland in 2015.

  • Staff Nurse

    Carolyn Kyne is a qualified Registered General Nurse and has worked as a nurse and nurse manager for many years in the UK and the USA within the speciality of paediatric critical care and paediatric cardiac critical care.  Most recently Carolyn was nurse coordinator of the paediatric critical care simulation programme and returned to Ireland in 2013 and graduated with a MSc Advanced Professional Practice in Nursing from Queens University, Belfast. Carolyn joined LauraLynn in 2015 and plans to pursue further education in paediatric palliative care.

  • Staff Nurse

    Susan Mc Dermott  qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2002 and completed her BSc Nursing in 2003. She has experience in acute hospital care in Ireland and Australia, and completed a post graduate diploma in Wound Management and Tissue Viability from the RSCI in 2007. Susan began working with adults and children with complex care needs in the Central Remedial Clinic, Clontarf. She completed her higher diploma in children’s nursing through CUH, Temple Street in 2012. Susan joined LauraLynn@HOME in September 2015.

  • Staff Nurse

    Aisling Reilly qualified as a registered nurse in Intellectual disability in 2002. Aisling gained experience in this area before qualifying from the Children’s University Hospital as a children’s nurse and completed her nursing degree in 2008. Aisling gained many years of experience in Ireland and Australia in medical, surgical and A&E. Aisling joined LauraLynn in 2012 and completed her European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care in 2013.

  • Healthcare Assistant

    Sarah Clarke began her career in hotel management before deciding her passion was  to work with children and young adults in a caring capacity. Sarah joined LauraLynn in 2005 as a healthcare assistant and since then has gained experience working with children and young adults with complex medical needs. She graduated in 2008 from Dublin Business School with a BA (Honors) in Psychology  and joined the LauraLynn@HOME in 2014.  Sarah has a keen interest in ‘memory making’ for families

  • Healthcare Assistant

    Fiona Rock has gained a vast amount of experience in the UK and Ireland. She has completed her FETAC level 5 in Healthcare and an additional module in Palliative Care. Fiona became part of the LauraLynn team in 2009 and has worked throughout the service. Fiona has experience in working with children who have suffered loss and bereavement and has a particular interest in sensory play.

  • Healthcare Assistant

    Angela Penny Howe has many years experience supporting people in the community setting. During this time she developed an interest in working with people with special needs. She completed a FETAC level 5 in Community and Health Services and gained experience as a Special Needs Assistant. Angela joined LauraLynn in 2011 and is continuing to expand her role and studies in this specialist area.
