Butterfly & Bumblebee Nature Walk for LauraLynn
St Enda’s Park, Rathfarnham
Students of DIT Aungier Street will be hosting the Butterfly & Bumblebee Family Nature Walk for LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice on Sunday the 9th of November in leafy St Enda’s Park in Rathfarnham. The event will begin at 11am with face painting and entertainment for the kids.
LauraLynn is a hospice for children with life limiting conditions. Based in Dublin they provide palliative care and support for children and their families. Their holistic approach to care enables them to support the whole family allowing parents to be ‘Mum and Dad’ rather than full time carers.
The walk is about a mile long and on the way around visitors will pass quaint bridges, beautiful trees and nature, the famous Pearse Museum and maybe even a sneaky squirrel! Children can choose to be a butterfly or a bumblebee as they buzz around the lovely park with family and friends.
The walk will finish back at the courtyard where it all began, where refreshments will be available before a raffle. Everyone registered for the walk will be entered in the raffle and there will be a great range of prizes from local businesses.
‘We always love seeing what fantastic ideas students come up with to raise money for our RAG charity and this year was no exception! The girls have a great family friendly event that everyone can enjoy including DIT students. We hope to see a great turnout on the day.’ Ciara Murnane, Vice President for Events DIT Students Union
‘LauraLynn is a charity that was already close to our hearts but our feelings about them grew even stronger once we visited the Sunshine Home. We are committed to raising as much as possible for LauraLynn who do such incredible work by providing support to families in what is the most heart-breaking loss to experience. We are hoping for a successful event and urge anyone who can make it to please come and support this fantastic cause!’ Lauren, Sarah & Fiona, Event Organisers
This is a lovely day out for all the family and for an amazing cause. Families can register for €20, Adults for €10 and Kids for €5.
