Education is the key to excellence in care
We want to have the most competent, educated and skilled workforce possible providing children’s palliative care.
To achieve this, we have a new Clinical Education & Research Department at LauraLynn whose remit is to provide training and evidence-based research for Health Care Professionals specifically in the area of caring for children with life-limiting and terminal conditions.
It costs approximately €20,000 a year to educate nurses in children’s palliative care to postgraduate standard. We receive minimal funding from the HSE or from any other state agency.
Support our ongoing Clinical Education and Training initiatives by helping us fund
- Internal Training programmes which we run here at our Clinical Education Department at LauraLynn
- Bursaries to enable our health care professionals to undertake a Level 9 Post Graduate Diploma at NUI Galway, UCD or TCD or undertake the European Certificate in Palliative Care at Milford Care Centre
- Research into improving the care we offer to children with life-limiting conditions and their families
- The purchase of books and resources for the LauraLynn library
