Real life everyday heroes have raised an incredible €50,000 for LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, during Children’s Hospice Week 2018.

For the fourth year in a row LauraLynn partnered with TV3 to raise awareness and vital funds for Ireland’s only children’s hospice.

On the morning of Friday June 8th, Ireland AM broadcast live from the LauraLynn campus where Alan Hughes called on viewers to dig deep and donate through our dedicated phone line and text number. There was an electric atmosphere at our LauraLynn campus which saw staff, volunteers, children and their families join us for our live fundraising drive with Ireland AM.

Each of our guests danced their way through the morning with live music by the Bootleg Beach Boys while enjoying facepainting by Happy Face Dublin, mouthwatering cupcakes by the Cupcake Store and scrumptious hand-rolled ice cream by Arctic Stone. Mid-morning, excitement was building as we reached and surpassed a target of €10,000 in donations from Ireland AM viewers.

Viewers heard from Jack Harmes and his parents Christine and David who joined Alan to talk about their experience of LauraLynn and how important the services of the charity are to the family. Maximus Murray and his grandparents also met with Alan as well as our charity supporters, Paul Howard (A.K.A Ross O’ Carroll-Kelly) and Isa Nacewa.

Local fundraising drives were held in the area with the help from staff at Mastercard, Salesforce and Google which saw many give generously.

Our final fundraising figure during Children’s Hospice Week 2018 reached a phenomenal target of €50,000. Thank you to all who donated so generously and to our staff, volunteers, supporters and of course the TV3 crew who created such a wonderful morning on Ireland AM live @LauraLynn.

LauraLynn CEO, Orla O’ Brien says, “I want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of our supporters – without your donations we would have to close our doors and turn away families who are in vital need of support. Thanks to the phenomenal support we have received during Children’s Hospice Week, we are closer to reaching our target of €4.2million and can continue to provide care and support to our families”.

Orla continued, “I would also like to give a special thank you to the team at TV3. For the last four years you have been a proud supporter of LauraLynn and you have given us the opportunity to spread awareness of this charity. Your support has made an indescribable difference to our fundraising efforts – thank you.”
