LauraLynn wins IMSTA Award
We were delighted to take home the eHealth Digital Award at the 5th Annual Irish Medical and Surgical Trade Association (IMSTA) Awards. Our winning entry, ‘Double Robotics’ is a robot that gives remote users a physical presence. It’s best described as an iPad on a Segway and allows users to log in like a Skype call, either via a mobile app or website. Users are presented with controls to move the robot around and a loudspeaker to communicate.
LauraLynn are working with Rosch Projects Projects to explore ways of using the ‘Double’ to offer the opportunity for families to link in and access services or events at LauraLynn without the hassle of travelling to our hospice in Dublin. It will also facilitate children being able to access certain outings and activities, like museums and concerts that they might otherwise not be able to attend. Leveraging technology-based interventions such as ‘Double Robotics’ help to maximise resources and increase the availability of therapeutic services to LauraLynn families.
The IMSTA awards, held in Croke Park Conference Centre on Thursday, 6 October 2016, was attended by representatives from the wider industry to celebrate the outstanding contribution made by companies and individuals to the development of better healthcare in Ireland. The eHealth Digital Award was sponsored by Health Informatics Society Ireland.< Back to News
