Powerscourt Townhouse Centre welcomes Father Christmas

30 Nov

Saturday Dec 1st 2012: For the first time ever, Powerscourt Townhouse Centre has teamed up with LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice to open a magical and unique Father Christmas Work Room that has been designed to match the authentic feel of the centre. Filled with all the charm you would expect from an 18th century styled Santa Claus’s den, this unique workroom is a must see for all the family. From the moment you enter the doors, children will get a real winter wonderland feeling as they will be greeted by a toasty fire and twinkling lights. Here they will see Father Christmas immersed in a pile of Christmas wish lists from Children from all around the world. Dressed in his old cords and check shirt, children will get a real life glimpse into a behind the scenes look of an authentic Father Christmas workroom, giving the whole experience a truly magical feel.

Around the little study, maps, globes and clocks show Father Christmas’s route for all the special deliveries of Christmas Eve. With a real life Father Christmas and his helpers on hand to welcome everyone, Children and Adults can enjoy “Creative Christmas” Workshops where they can make their very own tree decorations, cards and gifts, enjoy storytelling, making this the most magical experience.

Children and families who visit the workroom will also be supporting a great cause as proceeds will be shared with the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.
