Tools & Tips

Here's some tips to make your contribution really count.

1. Prove that you’re committed

Show others how committed you are by making the first donation. Your friends and family are far more likely to donate to your challenge if they can see you believe in yourself and LauraLynn.

2. Personalise your fundraising page

Before you share your fundraising page make sure you personalise it, upload a profile picture, edit the about section and let people know why you are taking part in LauraLynn’s 24Hour Treadmill Challenge. To do this, log in to your iDonate account and select ‘Edit Page’.

3. Tell people you are taking part

You’re taking part in LauraLynn’s second ever 24Hour Treadmill Challenge, we’re excited and you should be too so make sure to let people know. The easiest way to do this is to go to your fundraising page, select ‘Share’ and select whatever social media you want. You can also copy the link to you page and share that too.

4. Talk about it!

Tell your friends and family you are taking part, bring it up in conversation and ask them to support you by donating to your fundraising page.

5. Regularly post on you fundraising page

iDonate allows you to post “Updates” on your page, use this tool to post updates and let everyone know how you’re getting on so when people visit your page, they will know how much you’re doing to support LauraLynn.

6. Follow Up on your initial ask

Don’t be afraid to ask for support again. Everyone is busy and sometimes your friends and family may forget to donate the first time. Don’t be embarrassed to ask people two or three times.

7. Thank your donors

Ensure everyone who donates feel appreciated by thanking them for their support.

8. Double your fundraising through work

Many workplaces now provide matched donations for any money raised for registered charities in Ireland. Does your job do this?  Find out and ask them to match the money you raise.

9. Don’t stop fundraising during and after the event

It’s incredible how much money comes in during the 24 hours of the event and after so make sure you keep sharing the link to your fundraising page. Why not snap a sweaty selfie on the treadmill and post it online to show everyone you have completed your 30 minutes (or more!).
