In these unprecedented times, we are adapting to the challenge of experimenting and exploring new creative ways of reaching out, engaging and creating meaningful moments for our families who are cocooning in the safety of their homes.
This week the tallest land animal in the world knocked on the virtual door of LauraLynn families across Ireland as we teamed up with Fota Wildlife Park for a once in a life-time experience. LauraLynn families had the opportunity to meet some giraffes and ask a Wildlife Ranger some burning questions about the animals and life inside the park.
LauraLynn Play Therapist, Michelle Hartnett, who connected with Fota Wildlife on this collaboration shared: "We are so grateful to Fota Wildlife Park for our VIP behind the scenes Questions and Answers session. This will not only provide an incredible platform for our children and siblings to connect and reconnect but is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about some of our favourite animals!
Sinead Donnachie from Fota Wildlife Park commented: "We are delighted to be able to take part in this unique interaction between LauraLynn Ireland’s Children’s Hospice and Fota Wildlife Park. Education is one of the park’s core values and we are thrilled to be able to connect and share in new ways that are more suited for anyone who may be vulnerable in our society at the moment. Being able to answer questions is always an important part of the educational programmes here at the park and our rangers are extremely knowledgeable so for John and Liam to do this remotely with the children’s own questions was great."
