The Wheel is Ireland’s national association of charities, community groups and social enterprises.
As a representative voice, The Wheel provide leadership to the charity and community sector and advocates on behalf of this growing community of members. As a supportive resource, they offer advice, training and other opportunities to people working or volunteering in the charity and community sector.
As a member of the Wheel, LauraLynn have hugely benefited from their support over the years and are delighted to have their CEO, Kerry, now sitting on the board.
Kerry is a highly experienced healthcare professional with over 15 years’ experience working in the healthcare, not-for-profit and voluntary sectors. She is a long-standing member of the LauraLynn team, having been initially recruited to the Physiotherapy Department in 2012. Since then, Kerry has assumed the position of Clinical Services Manager in 2014 and later in 2016, she commenced the role of Head of Operations at LauraLynn before stepping into the role of CEO in 2020.
In a dynamic and inflationary environment, Kerry as a Wheel Member Representative on the board, is well placed to ensure the needs of charities, voluntary service providers and their staff and volunteers, as well as the serious issues facing these organisations remain high on the national agenda.
Commenting on her appointment to the Board of Directors, Kerry said;
''I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be a member of The Wheel’s Board of Directors. LauraLynn have greatly benefited from The Wheel’s support over the years, they play such a vital role in advocating for and supporting our sector and I am very proud to represent LauraLynn as a member of the Board. I look forward to working with the team and helping to drive the organisations goals and strategic direction over the next couple of years.''
The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and overseeing The Wheel’s strategic direction. All of the Board members including the Chairperson are volunteers giving their time, skills and expertise to help advance their mission.
