Family Support
A fundamental principle of children’s hospice care is that support is provided not only to the child but to the whole family.
Here at LauraLynn, we aim to help all the family along the journey of their child’s condition. We know that each family brings a unique combination of life experiences, social supports, communication patterns, cultural beliefs, coping skills and other factors to their experience of their child's condition.
Our Family Support team work together, focusing on the spiritual, social and occupational, psychological, emotional and physical well-being of each family.
The primary focus of all our family supports is to maintain and enhance quality of life by building resilience, promoting well-being and reducing distress.
We recognise that at times individuals and families need more specific and targeted help and we have a team of experienced professionals who can provide additional support when it is needed.
Our interdisciplinary Family Support Team consists of:
- Chaplain
- Clinical Psychologist
- Dietician
- Music Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Pharmacist
- Physiotherapist
- Play Therapist
