FAQS - 280,000 Steps in February
No, the goal is to do 280,000 steps throughout the month of February. It is up to you how you take on this challenge. Most people will be doing 10,000 a day but do what best suits your lifestyle.
That’s easy! You can use the step counter on your phone or any smart watch. At the end of each day, you can write down how many steps you did in our tracker included in your fundraising pack. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook Group too and let us know how you’re doing!
As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a 280,000 Steps in February Facebook Fundraising Page for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice where you can post your steps weekly or daily depending on preference. These pages are linked to LauraLynn and we’ll be able to see your progress.
Of course. Setting a goal of 280,000 Steps and then exceeding that goal would be fantastic!
If you have a smart phone you should have a pedometer in your health app. You can also use a Fitbit or smart watch if you have one and use the corresponding app.
Visit https://givepanel.me/fb/qMCIBH3I and wait for the pop-up to set up a page. Make sure you update your friends and family with your progress.
Facebook Fundraisers are the easiest way for you to fundraise. It makes fundraising from home simple! The funds raised are lodged directly into our bank account and there are no fees involved. Alternatively, you can request a sponsorship card by emailing me on cwhite@lauralynn.ie.
If someone not on Facebook wants to donate, they should still be able to do so. Share the direct link of your fundraiser with them and they can enter their details. Alternatively there are two other options for them to support your fundraiser:
-
They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking etc) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
-
They can donate directly to LauraLynn via www.lauralynn.ie/donate If they do this please ask them to put your name and '280,000 Steps in Feb' in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly.
Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds through Facebook but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:
Send them this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823
Select - I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
