Today, May 12th is International Nurses Day. International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12th, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth.
We want to take this time to celebrate the amazing Nursing Team across our Hospice, Regional and Disability Services at LauraLynn.
Commenting on International Nurses Day, Anne-Marie Carroll, Director of Nursing said: "May 12th is International Nurses Day, and the birthday of perhaps the most internationally recognised nurse: Florence Nightingale (1820-1910). Did you know that across our Disability and Hospice services in Dublin and our Regional Hub covering Cork and Kerry we have 60 Registered Nurses! Our nursing team comprise of Staff Nurses, Clinical Nurse Managers, Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurses Specialists and Nursing Leadership grades all working collaboratively to ensure that each adult living in the service is supported to live their best life, and that every child gets exceptional nursing care and that their families are supported. We are so fortunate as we get the privilege of working with families and building lasting bonds. As a proud Nurse for over 30 years and in my privileged role of the Director of Nursing here in LauraLynn for almost 17 years I see the 12th of May as not only an opportunity to celebrate the amazing Nursing Team we have here but also to say ‘Thank You’ to everyone that cares, our Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Family Support Team and all the incredible LauraLynn families."
Wishing all of our wonderful Nursing team a Happy International Nurses Day.
