From May 20th to 26th, at LauraLynn we celebrated Children’s Hospice Week 2024 with the theme ‘Caring for the Child, Supporting the Family’. The week was a monumental success, highlighting our mission and expanding awareness of the services we provide.
Children’s Hospice Week 2024 was extra special, marked by our first-ever 24-Hour Treadmill Challenge. This event aimed to shine a light on the continuous care provided by families and the importance of LauraLynn in allowing them to take a break and recharge.
Thank you to everyone who took part or helped out and a special thank you to our fitness partners, FLYEfit for providing the treadmills and for all their amazing help throughout the 24 hours.
Throughout the campaign we raised awareness about LauraLynn through radio advertising on multiple stations, including Galway Bay FM, 98FM, Limerick Live 95FM, Cork 96/103 FM, Radio Kerry, and Clare FM.
For the first time, our advertising efforts expanded to include podcasts and cinemas, reaching new audiences and spreading our message more widely.
Our advertising campaign also featured prominently on Luas Columns, Bus T-Sides, and 48 Sheets, ensuring high visibility across various transportation routes.
Harnessing the power of social media with extensive digital advertising campaigns across the social media platforms, we engaged a broad audience and drove awareness online.
The Treadmill Challenge and Children’s Hospice Week proudly featured on many media platforms including Virgin Media’s Ireland AM and RTE 2FM. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the children and families who shared their stories during Children’s Hospice Week. Your bravery and willingness to share your experiences have been instrumental in raising awareness and highlighting the importance of our work.
We also thank our dedicated staff and volunteers whose tireless efforts and unwavering commitment made the week’s events possible.
Lastly, we are immensely grateful to everyone who donated during Children’s Hospice Week. Your generosity enables us to continue providing essential care to children with life-limiting conditions while supporting their families.
LauraLynn CEO Kerry McLaverty says: “Children’s Hospice Week 2024 was extra special as we had our first 24-Hour Treadmill Challenge, highlighting the 24/7 care provided by families of children with palliative care needs. The event was a huge success and brought together staff, LauraLynn families, volunteers, and the wider community.
I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all our amazing donors who donated during the week, to all of our supporters who helped spread our message and to all of the LauraLynn families who so beautifully shared their stories in the media and across our social media channels during the week to help raise awareness for us, we are so grateful and appreciative. Thank you also to the media who gave us platforms to share our story and helped us reach so many people across the week and thank you to all our wonderful, dedicated staff and volunteers for making the campaign such a success’’
As we reflect on the success of Children’s Hospice Week 2024, we look forward to building on these achievements and expanding our reach and impact in the coming years.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s Children’s Hospice Week a remarkable success. Together, we are making a profound difference in the lives of the children and families who rely on LauraLynn.
