As we reflect on the past year, we are delighted to share our story of compassion, innovation, excellence, and growth in our 2022 Annual Report.
2022 was the busiest year yet for the hospice service as we cared for more children and families than ever before. There was a 139% increase in accepted referrals to or hospice service, with 22 new children and their families welcomed to the service throughout the year. Increased referrals have been driven by expansion of the service and the opening of the new Mallow-based community service.
A significant milestone in 2022 was the opening of our first regional community service in Mallow, bringing care closer to home for families in Cork and Kerry.
Of course, none of this could have been achieved without our dedicated and generous donors, funders, supporters, volunteers, management team and committed workforce, who took on the many challenges the year posed.
In October 2022, Hazel House, our Children’s Disability Service, was refurbished to create five single bedrooms and a soft play and sensory area. Discovery work continued in 2022 with a focus on the lived experience of the individuals living in our Adult Disability Service, Willow View. The team explored what a good day in someone’s life could look like if the supports were tailor-made to the person.
Our 2022 Annual Report and Financial Statements, aims to highlight the key moments and activities throughout the year.
We hope you enjoy it and should you require further details, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
