LauraLynn Shortlisted For Good Governance Award

Published: 23 Oct 2019

LauraLynn, Ireland's Children’s Hospice is delighted to be nominated for a Good Governance Award 2019 for our new Strategic Plan 2019 -2023.

Nominated in Category 4 - the Good Governance Awards seek to support and encourage the non-profit sector to use their annual reports and financial statements to showcase their embracement of and adherence to good governance.

Good governance matters not only because it promotes compliance with the law but also because it has a strong bearing on the organisation’s effectiveness in achieving its mission.

Good governance in non-profit organisations is at the heart of what makes non-profit organisations successful. By focusing on the information that non-profit organisations make available through their annual reports and accounts, this award also underlines the important connection between good governance and accountability.

Commenting on the news of LauraLynn’s nomination, CEO Orla O’Brien, said:

We are thrilled here in LauraLynn Children’s Hospice to hear that we have been nominated for a Good Governance Award this year. Good Governance is something that we prioritise in LauraLynn and pride ourselves on as an organisation so it is an honour to be acknowledged and recognised for that.”
