At LauraLynn we currently have over 160 volunteers who are key members of Team LauraLynn. We just simply could not do the work we do without their support.
The Volunteer of the Year Awards are held to thank all our volunteers and recognise their contribution to the organisation. Being a LauraLynn volunteer is a huge undertaking as volunteers must commit to a 12 month period on registration and must also complete a full training programme.
LauraLynn has 12 official volunteer roles including everything from working directly with our children and young adults to providing admin support or driving. Volunteers are active in every department and work closely with staff to provide the best possible service. Our registered volunteers support us both on and off site helping to create magical moments for the children and young adults in our care.
LauraLynn Ambassador, Fiona Coghlan, was on hand to present four wonderful volunteers with their awards; Richard, Sean, Marion and Carol, while LauraLynn CEO, Orla O'Brien stated:
"We are incredibly lucky to have a strong volunteering ethos in LauraLynn and we get to witness daily, the special and unique bond, our volunteers have with our families, children and staff alike. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of our volunteers for their incredible support throughout 2019.
You have helped us to make it a year to remember for our children and families in LauraLynn with incredible events such as Family Fun Day, The Heroes Ball, Light Up LauraLynn and Grandparents Day to memorable story-telling, music sessions and activities across our services. Without your support and dedication we couldn’t provide the services that we do to children with life-limiting conditions and their families so a huge thank you to you all."
