The LauraLynn campus was once again transformed into a festive wonderland for the annual Light Up LauraLynn event on Sunday, November 24th. The grounds in Leopardstown were filled with the joyous sounds of Christmas and the twinkling of lights, creating a magical atmosphere for all who attended.
The event was officially opened by our wonderful MC, Ray D’Arcy, who welcomed LauraLynn children and their families, staff, and special guests. Ray set the tone for the day, emphasising the importance of coming together to celebrate life, remember loved ones, and kick off the Christmas season.
Throughout the afternoon, guests were treated to a series of delightful performances. The Kilmacud Crokes Choir, Hollypark Girls School Choir, and our very own LauraLynn Choir filled the air with beautiful music, spreading holiday cheer.
Children and families enjoyed a variety of festive activities, including arts and crafts, gaming, and a visit to Santa's grotto, run by the dedicated Santa Truck crew. The Winter Wonderland Sensory Music Room, hosted by our talented Music Therapy team, provided a serene escape for children and parents alike.
A special moment of reflection was led by Breffni McGuinness, our Bereavement Coordinator, who guided us in remembering loved ones. The Memorial Walkway offered a poignant space for reflection, where guests could place stars to remember loved ones.
As the evening darkened Ray D’Arcy was joined on stage by the Gibson O’Gara family, who are fronting this year’s Christmas Appeal in memory of their beloved son Martin. Alongside them were LauraLynn founder Jane McKenna, special guest performer Lyra and LauraLynn ambassador Jenny McCarthy. Together, they led the countdown to the Light Up moment, illuminating the campus with a warm, festive glow.
The celebration continued with a captivating performance by special guest Lyra. Her stunning performance was the perfect way to close out the event.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible. A special thank you to our MC, Ray D’Arcy, our special guests and ambassadors, the choirs and performers, and the many volunteers who ensured everything ran smoothly. We are also deeply grateful to Verve, The Live Agency, for their incredible support and partnership in making Light Up LauraLynn a success each year.
Finally, thank you to our amazing LauraLynn children and families for joining us and making this event truly special. We hope you left with cherished memories and a heart full of Christmas spirit.
