Taking care of a sick child can be the most challenging and difficult task our families face. Beyond dealing with the physical and medical needs of their child, their can be a significant emotional and social impact on the whole family unit. Through events like the Family Fun Day we give the whole family time together to laugh and play, offering some respite from the responsibility of caring for their sick child.
This year’s Family Fun Day was ‘Carnival’ themed and our little heroes and their families had a fun filled day! Not only did they get to meet some furry friends, the Dublin Fire Brigade but they also enjoyed arts and crafts, live performances, carnival games, face paint and balloon sculpting! The sun was shining and the families also got to enjoy a delicious BBQ, ice-cream, candy floss and lots of tasty treats.
‘It was a lovely inclusive family day spent together. No worrying about changing facilities or how busy it would be. All the children are treated like royalty and each come home very happy. They are spoiled rotten with fun activities and treats.’

This event is one of the main highlights in the LauraLynn calendar and it gives families an opportunity to enjoy quality time together and to create precious memories. Events like this just couldn’t happen without the help and support of many special people so we are so grateful to all of our volunteers, donors and sponsors who helped make this a magical day for our families.
